Webinar: Soil Sterilants Program
Wednesday, May 6, 2020 10:00 – 11:00 AM PDT
Presented by ESAA

Soil sterilants were commonly used from the 1960s to late 1990s for non-selective vegetation control on industrial sites in Alberta. Many of these are either being decommissioned or stalled at the assessment and remediation phase, resulting in delayed reclamation and certification. In an effort to establish proven, technical, and cost-effective strategies and best management practices for effective management of sites impacted by residual soil sterilants, with the goal of achieving regulatory site closure, a 5-year program, funded by both government and industry, was initiated in 2019 to address key knowledge gaps through a suite of projects. InnoTech Alberta, who is responsible for management and execution of the Soil Sterilants Program will provide an overview of the program, the associated path to its development, and a synopsis of the activities initiated to date. How do we ensure Environmental Compliance in the wake of Covid-19, when most of us are working from home and can’t rely on paper-based processes? The answer is digital! EnviroApps’ ez2Track solution automates tracking and reporting of hazardous waste and water usage, increasing data accuracy and significantly reducing compliance effort. ez2Track is a cloud-based software Application (App) for field personnel that replaces paper and spreadsheet-based systems, provides the much needed visibility and automatically generates the required reports for Regulatory Compliance.
