KPU Spring 2021 Co-op – Environmental Protection Technology
The Career Development Centre at Kwantlen Polytechnic University is now posting co-op roles for Spring 2021
As students move into the fall semester, and employers will be welcoming their fall co-op work-term students, we are here ready to help you get a jump start on Spring.
Currently we are posting roles which will start in January. In response to the pandemic the Co-op Office is encouraging employers to accept remote working roles as well as onsite.
The Environmental Protection Technology (EPT) program offers work terms in 4- or 8-month duration. Students receive hands-on training making them ready to hit the ground running when they work with you. The program provides a working knowledge of physical and life sciences including; general biology, ecology, toxicology, chemistry, physics, and statistics. Specific topics include: water and soil field sampling; solid, liquid and air treatment methods; hazardous goods and waste handling methods; WHMIS implementation and compliance evaluation; emergency planning and spill response methods; recycling and waste minimization program design; and environmental issues analysis.
Along with hiring talent for co-op work terms, you are building a pool of candidates for future permanent employment opportunities. This value-add helps save time and costs for recruitment and training later. Having a pool of co-op students you previously worked with grants valuable insight into their fit with your organization.
Please send co-op job descriptions to [email protected] for posting. Although roles are accepted now and throughout the Fall term, we strongly encourage submitting roles by early December for best student application response.
Do you have a co-op role that is posted every term, or have an open co-op program continuously accepting applications? If so, please contact Nadine at [email protected].
