KBL Awarded 1st Place in “Members at Work” Photo Contest

The 2025 BCEIA “Members at Work” Photo Contest received a number of high quality submissions from amateur photographers within its member organizations. These images encompassed a wide range of subjects and included photos taken during work in the environmental industry in the past year. New this year was a special category – “Nature at Work” – which recognized Stantec for its image combining work and wildlife. Congratulations also go out to Core 6 and Keystone Environmental for their submissions which received Honourable Mentions from the jury.

NATURE AT WORK: Stantec This photo was taken in September 2025 while conducting an archaeological site revisit near Whitehorse Yukon, on a prominent hilltop overlooking the area. The photo is of my colleague, Dinah Kohut. Just as we began walking down from the hill, a bald eagle swooped in, hovering or circling in the strong winds above Dinah, seemingly taking a keen interest in her presence. I was able to capture the photo in the spur of the moment on my work phone. After a while, the eagle left us to settle on a nearby tree.
