BCEIA Committees
Connecting Members, Facilitating Collaboration, Inspiring Sustainability
The Board is comprised of individual committees with specific mandates. If you are interested in sharing your time and expertise to enrich a BCEIA committee, please reach out to the Committee Chair as listed in the Board Directory. The Association updates their committees annually to keep pace with developments within the environmental industry – let us know if you have any suggestions.
Executive Committee
Consisting of the President, Past President, 1st and 2nd Vice President, Secretary Treasurer; the Executive Committee carries out the day-to-day operational activities of the Association.
BEST Committee
The BEST Committee organizes the annual Bettering Environmental Stewardship & Technology (BEST) Conference on behalf of the organization with the assistance of the Education and Professional Development Committee.
Business Development Committee
The Business Development Committee creates unique social experiences that connect professionals across our industry. Through diverse events like outdoor gatherings, speaker series with local industry experts, and networking evenings featuring drinks and appetizers; the committee fosters meaningful professional connections and collaboration. We provide opportunities for members to explore industry insights, build relationships, connect with emerging industry leaders, and expand professional networks through innovative and enjoyable social experiences.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is responsible for developing and communicating public messages and outreach programs for the BCEIA.
Indigenous Peoples Committee
A focus on improving communications, cooperation and understanding between First Nations and environmental companies, increasing First Nations participation in environmental industries, are the cornerstones of this environmental committees’ involvement with First Nations across the province. The committee seeks to establish partnerships, build enterprise, and enhance labour development with First Nations communities and people.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee works to recruit and welcome new members at each level of membership from Student to Platinum. We also strive to retain our current membership by ensuring our members receive the full benefit of their membership.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee manages the BCEIA’s annual scholarships for British Columbian students undertaking post-secondary education in the environmental industry sector, including submissions, candidate assessment, and awards.
Sustainability Committee
The BCEIA Sustainability group promotes the education and awareness of sustainability initiatives, including the consideration of environmental impacts with respect to BCEIA decision-making.
