Industry Support for Indigenous Students

BCEIA’s Pathways to the Future Scholarship Fundraiser Campaign brings British Columbia’s environmental industry together to support Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education in an environmental field. Through sponsorship, our members and industry partners help fund scholarships and bursaries to grow the industry’s next generation of leaders. Building on Last Year’s Success
Last year, BCEIA sponsors helped fund three Indigenous student bursaries and provided travel and accommodation support for recipients to attend the BEST Conference and receive their awards in person. This year, we hope to raise $10,000 and are inviting the environmental industry to build on that success and help us support even more students. Meet last year’s recipients.

How our Pathways to the Future Scholarship Drive Works

  • Industry Support BCEIA members and industry partners contribute through one of several sponsorship opportunities.
  • Collective Impact Contributions are brought together through the Pathways to the Future campaign to fund student scholarships and bursaries.
  • Indigenous-Led Administration Scholarship application, recipient-selection and award-distribution process are administered by New Relationship Trust, an Indigenous non profit that supports First Nations in B.C. with funding for self-determination, education, and economic growth. Individual sponsors do not select recipients or determine how awards are distributed; however, the BCEIA creates selection criteria to align with the BC Environment Industry general areas of focus.

New Relations Ship Trust: Indigenous-Led Student Support

New Relationship Trust is an Indigenous-led organization that administers the scholarships and bursaries supported through Pathways to the Future. NRT manages the application process, assesses applicants, selects recipients and distributes the awards. This ensures that decisions about student support remain within an Indigenous-led process.

The BCEIA’s role is to bring the environmental industry together, raise funds and celebrate the collective impact of participating sponsors.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Presenting Sponsor — $6,000

Become the exclusive Presenting Sponsor of Pathways to the Future and help establish the leadership and momentum needed to build a successful industry-wide campaign. The Presenting Sponsor receives the campaign’s most prominent recognition while supporting the equivalent of multiple student awards. This opportunity is exclusively available to BCEIA Premier Members on a first come-first served basis.

Recognition includes:

  • Exclusive recognition as the Presenting Sponsor of Pathways to the Future
  • Presenting Sponsor logo prominently featured at the top of the Pathways to the Future campaign page
  • First-position logo placement on campaign and awards-ceremony screens
  • Prominent recognition on the BCEIA website
  • Recognition in campaign email communications
  • First-position logo placement in the BCEIA Annual Report
  • Verbal acknowledgment at the awards presentation, where applicable
  • Recognition for demonstrating industry leadership in support of Indigenous students
  • First right of refusal for 2027 scholarship drive sponsorship

Pathways Leadership Sponsor — $4,000
Fund one complete student scholarship and demonstrate significant leadership in support of Indigenous education.

Recognition includes:

  • Prominent logo placement on awards-ceremony screens at BEST Conference luncheon
  • Prominent recognition on the campaign webpage
  • Logo placement in the BCEIA Annual Report
  • Recognition in campaign communications
  • Acknowledgment as funding one complete student scholarship

Pathways Bursary Sponsor — $2,000
Fund one complete student bursary administered by New Relationship Trust.

Recognition includes:

  • Logo placement on awards-ceremony screens at BEST Conference luncheon
  • Logo recognition on the campaign webpage
  • Logo placement in the BCEIA Annual Report
  • Acknowledgment as funding one complete student bursary

Pathways Sponsor — $1,350

Make a substantial contribution toward the collective campaign.

Pathways Supporter — Donation

Help grow the collective impact of the campaign through an accessible supporting contribution.
